Tytex to sell headscarves for cancer patients

Tytex Group recently acquired the company Prego, which develops specially designed hats and headscarves for women and children who have lost their hair as a consequence of chemotherapy or illness. The products are marketed under the two well-known brands "Christine" and "Care to Wear".

"My business concept suited Tytex perfectly: Prego, the small-scale entrepreneurial company with a considerable potential for growth, and Tytex, the major player in the field of healthcare with years of experience, know-how, a global network and in particular the support of a large organisation", says Tine Fuglsang, the founder of Prego.

"It has always been my aim to make my products better known on a global scale - and today rather than yesterday. Now that we are working together, we can really get things going," says founder Tine Fuglsang.

Prego is to form an independent business unit within Tytex Group, which is a world-leader in a whole range of medical textiles that are used in orthopaedic products, maternity and breast-feeding underwear and also bandages, splints and supportive products for use in hospitals.

"What Prego and Tytex have in common is that both companies make products that improve the day-to-day life of people who are experiencing health-related difficulties" says Thomas Klausen, chief executive officer of Tytex Group.

"This is why Prego's profile and products fit in well with Tytex's product range and sales structure," adds CEO Thomas Klausen.

As a result of the merger, Prego will be closing its office in Århus and transferring its personnel and stores to Tytex's address in Ikast. The move is expected to take place in October.
