New product line in SAFEHIP® SELECT PROTECTION
SAFEHIP® SELECT PROTECTION means that we develop our hip protectors so that they meet the market needs and wishes. We have developed hip protectors to meet increasing personal needs. Our hip protectors are developed with close cooperation with users during product development process. Our hip protectors which combine form with function all share common key factors: Compliance, comfort, efficacy and performance.
Hip protectors with soft shield have gotten great market interest. For the last 12 to 18 months we have had great focus on possibility of developing a hip protector with soft shield. We have utilised many resources in order to develop a hip protector with soft shield that has the right material composition, thickness and design. Now we are ready to introduce SAFEHIP® with Soft shield, which sits perfectly and have optimal function. We have carried out many laboratory tests on SAFEHIP® with Soft shield. All tests showed good results. SAFEHIP® with Soft shield excels in the areas of compliance and efficacy, and has impressive results in both impact energy dispersion and impact energy absorption.
Just as all of our other products, we participate in clinical studies all over the world with our new SAFEHIP® with Soft shield. Currently, SAFEHIP® with Soft shield is taking part in the world’s largest clinical testing project on hip protectors with soft shield in Norway. The goal of the clinical test is to examine the soft shield in relation to important parameters such as compliance and efficacy. The clinical test will be carried out over 18 months (2005 to 2006) where no less than 19 nursing homes are testing SAFEHIP® with Soft shield.
We are waiting for the final test results, but we are confident that the results will show that we have developed yet another hip protector which supports our existing SAFEHIP® SELECT PROTECTION concept: Whatever you need and where you need it, SAFEHIP® SELECT PROTECTION gives you choice and protection.
